About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Director for a 13-week interim contract opportunity in Globe, Arizona. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing Health Information Management operations while ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate medical records, coding quality, data integrity, and efficient departmental workflows.
The ideal candidate will bring broad HIM leadership experience and the ability to provide hands-on operational support in a small, fast-paced critical access hospital environment.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day Health Information Management operations and provide direction and support to HIM staff.
Oversee medical records, coding processes, documentation workflows, and health information management practices.
Maintain data integrity, record accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.
Identify operational issues, improve HIM workflows, and collaborate with clinical, administrative, and revenue-cycle stakeholders.
Support departmental performance, staff development, and accurate documentation within the Meditech environment.
Requirements
Minimum 5 Years of Health Information Management Experience Required.
Previous HIM Leadership, Management, or Director-Level Experience Required.
Strong Knowledge of Medical Records, Coding Operations, Data Integrity, Privacy, and Regulatory Compliance Required.
Strong Leadership, Communication, Problem-Solving, and Departmental Management Skills Required.
Experience Working With Electronic Medical Record Systems Required; Meditech Experience Preferred.
