About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) / Critical Access for a 13-week contract in Pahala, Hawaii. This position is within a small Critical Access Hospital where nursing staff provide coverage across Emergency, Acute Care, and Long-Term Care (LTC) areas based on patient census and operational needs.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of Emergency Department experience and be comfortable working across multiple care settings. When Emergency Department volume is low, the RN may provide backup coverage in Acute Care and LTC, including medication administration and applicable nursing procedures.
ResponsibilitiesAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients presenting with emergency and acute healthcare needs.
Provide Emergency Department coverage and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition using established nursing standards and clinical protocols.
Float to Acute Care and Long-Term Care areas based on patient census, staffing, and operational needs.
Administer medications and perform appropriate nursing procedures for Acute Care and LTC patients when assigned.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate safe patient care.
Minimum 2 Years of Recent Emergency Department Registered Nurse Experience Required.
Current Hawaii Registered Nurse License Required by the Start of the Assignment; Candidates Without an Active Hawaii License Must Apply Upon Acceptance.
Current BLS/BCLS Certification Required.
Ability to Provide Nursing Care Across Emergency Department, Acute Care, and Long-Term Care Settings Required.
Ability to Work 12-Hour Shifts, Required Holiday Coverage, and Complete Required Pre-Start Employee Health Clearance Required.
