Job Description

Pay: $25 to $30 an hour. Shift: Full time. Type: Direct Hire.

Melben is hiring a Welder / Fabricator for a direct-hire position at a manufacturing shop in Central Ohio. This is a permanent role paying $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on your experience level, with flexible start dates available for the right candidate.

In this shop, you will lay out, cut, fit, and weld metal assemblies directly from engineering drawings. You will handle your own setups, inspect your fit-ups, and ensure finished parts match tight tolerances using standard fabrication hand tools and welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and shop work orders
• Lay out, cut, and fit metal parts according to specifications
• Tack and weld assemblies using standard shop welding processes
• Inspect finished welds and parts to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fabrication work area

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to read and work from fabrication blueprints
• Practical experience with metal fabrication and welding
• Proficiency with standard layout, measuring, and cutting tools
• 3 years of experience is a plus
